Aerial Images of the Super-Post-Panamax Cranes on the way to the Port of Baltimore. They are so tall that they nearly touch the Francis Scott Key Bridge. These new cranes were manufactured in China then delivered nearly 20,000 miles to the Port of Baltimore. June 20, 2012.
The Port of Baltimore put into service four additional ultra-large, Neo-Panamax cranes, each measuring 450 feet in height. The new cranes, which are fully electric with no diesel emissions, are part of a $166 million investment at Seagirt by Ports America Chesapeake.Mar 15, 2023
Following a two-month journey that included dramatic passage under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and the Francis Scott Key Bridge, four new, massive Neo-Panamax container cranes arrived today at the Helen Delich Bentley Port of Baltimore’s Seagirt Marine Terminal. The cranes were delivered aboard the Zhen Hua 24 from China, and were greeted by officials from the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Port Administration (MDOT MPA) and its public-private partner, Ports America Chesapeake.
